Many of you know that I am an extremely busy person and of course that is evidenced in sometimes weeks sometime months apart blog posts. 🙂
I have always been a planner type of person and would write down everything I do at work and at home I would write down all my bills and their due date. At the time, it was more of a cover your butt kind of thing but it eventually became a habit and for my personal use it was a way of me keeping track of what and how much I spend on monthly bills or how to allocate my funds. Â At the beginning of the year I would look for a new journal to write in and would not be satisfied until I got the perfect journal, most times it would just be an empty undated one.
Recently, there have been a planning rage where there are even Facebook planning communities, etsy shops selling planning supplies. Â I used to just plan/budget in a journal, now it is the “in” thing. Â I incorporate my scrapbooking into my planning so it saves me from looking to take up residence in Michael’s.
I will be adding more planning items to the blog, maybe it can help someone who wants to plan their lives better. Â I believe in the power of written words and sometimes in planning things your life don’t feel as helter skelter as you think it is.
These are some Tul journals I have for work (got them on sale at Office Depot. Â FYI, the best time to buy Tul products are on sale, they can be a bit pricey)
My latest journal for this year
This week spread before I actually write in it
Some of my supplies (I use the word “some” very loosely) 🙂
So tips on starting out:
- Get a planner that you like; I like the Happy Planner and Erin Condren.
- I always say the must have with a sticker pack is the Productivity Pack from The Happy Planner and some quotes pack.
- Washi tapes (I find The Happy Planner ones and the Recollection are the best)
Happy planners can be found on Amazon, Etsy, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, from the creator themselves; Be and my Big ideas. Â There are many other places that probably sell them, make google yall best friend, lol. Â I recently purchased an Academic Planner from ErinCondren.com so I am still waiting for it to come.
How do you plan your life?
