Mental Health Awareness Tree

July is designated as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) Mental Health Month in order to bring awareness to the uncommon strife that underrepresented groups face in regard to mental health.

Mental health is something that affects everyone to some degree. Whether it’s stress, anxiety or depression, making sure that you are happy and healthy in mind is important. There are many things that can affect our mental health, such as: lifestyle choices, relationships and financial situations.

All humans need to feel balance and happiness in their lives; to feel secure, loved and valued; to be able to make meaningful connections with other people; and to find meaning in their work.

Since I technically didn’t have a tree for July 4th, somewhere around the 2nd week I put up a tree for BIPOC Mental Health and still have the tree up but was so busy doing carnival reviews that I never posted it. I am now sharing this tree with you all since we should all be aware of our Mental Health.

Ultimately, mental health is about learning how to live happily despite not being able to please everyone, feeling disconnected from those around you, and struggling with your own brain. None of us will ever achieve that perfection – but if we don’t try, we won’t get any better either.
