Do things really happen for a reason?

I was having a conversation with a friend and this question dawned upon me.  Do things really happen for a reason? Do we question God’s work when good or bad things happen?

I for one always found a meaning to something, be it in something that I dream of or something that crosses my path, I would always think that there was a reason for it.  But when you start seeing young people dying, or young people going through so much suffering, it brings the question, why? Why do they have to go through this?  Why must a parent bury their child, why is the child that is being abused still prays to God and believe in God….Why is God putting him/her through all that pain?

Please don’t get my post wrong, because I believe in God but I still have to question things.  I still want to know why and maybe I will never know why to my questions but I do believe that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and believe that all sufferings will be justified and one day things will and must get better.

I was doing some reading and came across a line that read:

“God’s will is not the path we walk, but rather how we walk the path.”

Teachings have taught that God’s plan was not for pain to be part of life but we all know Adam and Eve erred (I blame Adam, eh), is what we do with the pain and hurt is what that matters.

So to end I will say, I believe that not everything happens for a reason.  But when something happens, there can be a reason to bring healing and hope to others.  Let our pain be used to something greater.

I believe everything happens for a reason… I have many examples of things that I have questioned “why” but as I journey back and began Journalling my life events… Current and past – things begin to unravel and I see why, who, what, where and how things are what they are…. to be continued with different events. Sometimes we only need to look deeper at the reasoning for a better understanding and also look into ourselves and heart of hearts. I am not saying it will be easy or painless… some events are going to hurt like Hell’s Fire.. Emotionally, Physically, Mentally, Financially and Spiritually but it with Faith it will be ok.

Think of it this way: When a train goes through a tunnel and it gets dark, you don’t through away the ticket and jump off. You sit still and trust the engineer. Trust GOD today, no matter how dark the situation. God says “you are coming out” Live Love Laugh Learn
